Using Rhino and Grasshopper to remodel the facade of Stadthalle Chemnitz (1969 to 1974)

This building was designed in 1969 probably over a drafting board. Which makes me wonder how technology evolved to where we are today. Yet I believe that revolutionary facades such as the below had conceived the necessity for the Grasshopper and Dynamo of today.

The below image includes a step by step tutorial that uses the Bounding Box technique to map and manipulate the panels in this exercise. This technique can be used with any panel that you can think of. In Step 6 of this tutorial will teach you how to map the same panel over a double curved surface.
