Waffle Structures and Fabrication Schedule in Revit & Dynamo BIM

Create a Waffle structure and schedule for fabrication in Autodesk Revit & Dynamo BIM

Step 01 - Open Revit, start a new project then Open "01 Create WAFFLE Girders.dyn" in Dynamo.
Step 02 - Click on Browse in the "File Path" node and locate the SAT File "WAFFLE DOUBLE CURVE SURFACE". See below image.

Step - 03 Run the Dynamo application to get the below result.

Step 04 - Close the previous Dynamo File and open "02 Create WAFFLE Families.dyn".
Pan to the far right side where you will see the part of the dynamo definition that creates revit families from the waffle girders. make sure to Freeze on set at a time. This means that when exporting Set A  make sure that Set B is frozen and vice versa. See below image.

Step 05 - Since we are unable to create a Legend for structural framing in revit, I have created girder families from a Metric Generic Model Template that is categorised as "Doors". Using this trick I was able to create a fabrication legend , named it "Girder Schedule" of the girders. In your project you should see the families in the project browser under Door families. See below image of Legend and Project Browser. If in doubt open "WAFFLE FABRICATION LEGEND PROJECT.rvt" to see the end result.
